This workshop introduces educators to an innovative approach that seamlessly integrates engineering and literacy. Delivered fully online and asynchronously, this workshop provides a structured introduction to the Novel Engineering methodology. Participants explore core concepts such as the Engineering Design Process and the educational value of identifying engineering design challenges within literacy-based activities. 

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

• Explain the Novel Engineering approach to integrating engineering and literacy
• Explain client-centered engineering design
• Describe the steps of the engineering design process and the role of constraints and criteria in engineering design
• Describe how a sample Novel Engineering project integrates engineering and literacy
• Engage in a sample Novel Engineering experience
• Be able to implement a provided Novel Engineering experience with youth
